Changing the
face of innovation

Our Mission & Vision

Coded by: is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that focuses on preparing young people for leadership roles within the tech and startup space through education programs, resources, and support. Our vision is to be the springboard for the leaders of the world’s most impactful tech companies.

Tech entrepreneurship
as a vehicle for social change

We envision a world in which technological advancement benefits all members of society. A world where individuals can create the lives they deserve based solely on their potential and intelligence. A world where everyone has the opportunity to own their economic future.

Our Story

Sylvester Mobley founded Coded by Kids in 2014 with a mission to transform the face of the tech industry by helping parents and children completely reimagine what was possible for their future. Sylvester knew that with the right tools, support, and education, young people could learn to code their way into leading roles in the global tech economy, and build true stable wealth for themselves and their communities. Since 2014, Coded by: has proudly provided tech education to over 2,500 children across 30 locations in three states, and we’re only getting started.

Over the past decade, Coded by: has made a positive impact in the lives of Philadelphia's youth, providing them access to innovative and engaging tech programming. As we reflect on the past 10 years, we are deeply grateful for our exceptional students, who we value as the heart of Coded by, and we remain dedicated to making a significant difference in their lives.
