Coded by: is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that focuses on preparing underrepresented people for leadership roles within the tech and startup space through education programs, resources, and support. Our vision is to be the springboard for the underrepresented leaders of the world’s most impactful tech companies.
Sylvester Mobley founded Coded by Kids in 2014 with a mission to transform the face of the tech industry by helping parents and children completely reimagine what was possible for their future. Sylvester knew that with the right tools, support, and education, underrepresented young people could learn to code their way into leading roles in the global tech economy, and build true stable wealth for themselves and their communities. Since 2014, Coded by: has proudly provided tech education to over 1,700 children across 30 locations in three states, and we’re only getting started.

“CBK has given me the valuable experience of working in the [tech] field at such a young age and has contributed to my personal and professional growth… CBK allowed me to grow into a confident person in everything I do.”
“I think what actually makes [CBK] special is the kids themselves. There's just so much passion and desire to learn that they show.”
“The people and environment [at CBK] are very welcoming and they constantly encourage me to improve professionally and personally by thinking outside the box and taking on roles outside of my comfort zone.”
"One of my favorite things… is just how diverse [CBK] is. I feel like in technology, it's very rare for you to be on a diverse team. So it's nice to be able to look up to people that look like me."
